Prescription Refills
The physicians at Ottawa Regional Medical Center work with you and your pharmacy to authorize medication refills. Here are some suggestions to make it easier for you to refill your medication.
To avoid delays and busy phone times, please ask your physician for medication refills at the time of your office visit. Between visits, should you need a prescription refill, please use our automated prescription refill line: 815-431-3223.
Be prepared with the following information and listen for the prompts:
- Patient’s Name and Date of Birth
- Patient’s Doctor’s Name
- Name of Medication, Strength, and Directions
- Pharmacy Name and Phone Number
Please allow 48 hours for your request to be processed before checking with your pharmacy. If you use a mail order prescription service, you will need to pick up your prescription during regular office hours at the registration desk.
In order to assure appropriate use and monitoring of your medication, periodic clinical re-evaluations may be required in order to renew medications. Therefore, it is important to call for an appointment when you have one refill left. Bring all of your current medication bottles with you to your visit. Be sure to let us know of any herbal medication you are taking, or any changes in allergies.
Refills on controlled substances (i.e. narcotic pain medications) can only be provided by your primary care physician and will only be made during regular clinic hours. Refills will not be made during nights, weekends or holidays.
Please understand that this policy is for your safety and in your best interest. We care enough to be sure that you are being treated properly for your ongoing medical care.
