In addition to providing primary care for children, the pediatrician is also available as a consultant to other physicians concerning complicated problems during childhood.

MID-LEVEL PROVIDER
Mid-level providers are skilled professionals who extend the services provided in a physician’s practice by handling many routine health care services. They diagnose and manage many common illnesses and minor injuries, and will refer you to a physician if a serious health problem is discovered. Mid-level providers include Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
