The mission of the Diabetes Care Program at Ottawa Regional Medical Center is to improve the health and quality of life of diabetic patients through ongoing clinical management, education, and support. As a primary care physician group, we are focused on the unique needs of a diabetic patient. We follow the guidelines of the American Diabetes Association for diabetic care and base our principles of management on the latest medical literature.
At Ottawa Regional Medical Center our comprehensive services combined with our diabetic care program, sets us apart from other care options within the community.
- Whether you have been newly diagnosed or have had diabetes for a long time, Ottawa Regional Medical Center’s Certified Nurse Practitioner, Ami Dose, can assist you through a series of diabetic education classes to better manage your diabetes.
- Ottawa Regional Medical Center’s convenient on-site certified lab and x-ray services provide accurate test results to your physician to assist him/her in the management of your diabetes and related medical conditions.
- Our electronic medical record allows tracking of your lab work and other diabetic monitoring measures. For example, at your office visit, your physician can show you a graph of your cholesterol levels or blood sugar levels that can illustrate your progress and assist in managing therapy for better control.
- Should you be hospitalized, Ottawa Regional Medical Center has an integrated hospital care management program in which a Hospitalist physician provides fulltime coverage at the hospital, ensuring that you have the best possible care during your hospitalization.
